After President Cyril Ramaphosa extended the adjusted alert Level 3 lockdown, the Democratic Alliance has called on the government to extend the UIF TERS Scheme. 


The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is one of the largest tax-collecting agencies in South Africa. It is by law to collect revenue from South African citizens and ensure that they comply with the tax law.


Many Sassa applicants and beneficiaries have relayed that there seems to be an issue in processing details from Identity Documents (IDs). Sassa has responded with what to do when this issue pops up. 


The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has made changes to the regulations which now allows more individuals to get fund from them, even if they aren’t registered with UIF. This comes after complaints of exclusions of those in need and working.


UIF has now changed their regulations and are paying funds directly into employees bank accounts. Also, it's been announced that employees will be able to apply for funding from the UIF themselves. 


Government has set up relief schemes through the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) to assist individuals with finances during the pandemic which sees many businesses have to temporarily close their doors. However, freelancers cannot benefit from these grants
