UBI is a tertiary level institute providing theological education for men and women situated in the hills above Pietermaritzburg, the capital of KwaZulu-Natal. Their goal is to partner with the local church in training and developing individuals for ministry and develop Christ-like servant leaders committed to Christ and His great commission.
Their faculty is well-trained academically and involved in ministry in local churches as well and their graduates serve in a variety of capacities in local churches, parachurch organizations, and their communities.

- Higher Certificate in Theology (in English and isiZulu)
- Diploma in Theology (in English and isiZulu)
- Bachelor of Theology (in English)

General Admission:
The following items are needed by UBI to process your application. They are:
- One Application for Admission Form filled out by yourself;
- One (or more) Fee Payment Confirmation Form(s) filled out by your sponsor(s);
- One Letter of Reference written by your pastor;
- Two Reference Forms filled out by those serving as your references;
- One Application Fee.
- Health Questionaire completed
- Copy of your Senior Certificate
