Ekurhuleni West TVET College has a diverse array of programmes catering to various fields of study. However, one critical aspect that every potential student must consider is the fee structure associated with their desired course.

Technical Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) Colleges are tertiary education institutions which focus on vocational and occupational education and training with the aim of preparing students to become functional workers in a skilled trade. There are 50 registered TVET Colleges located across South Africa.

Many students want to enrol in programmes at TVET Colleges. However, they will first consider the class fees to check if the course is financially viable for their circumstances.

Privately Funded Enrolments

For privately funded enrollments, the fees vary depending on the programme and level.

Deposit: A deposit is required for NC (V) students who either do not qualify for the DHET bursary or refuse to apply for it. This deposit is equal to a certain percentage of the total fees, typically ranging from R2,000 to R2,400, depending on the programme.

Full Programme Fees: The total fees for a full programme (7 subjects) range from around R54,000 to R109,000 for privately funded enrollments.

Does NSFAS Pay for TVET College Fees and Allowances for Students?

TVET vocational colleges are public education institutions governed by the state which means that students who attend these colleges qualify for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme through a NSFAS bursary.

The NSFAS bursary covers more than just a student's fees as the comprehensive NSFAS funding also pays for accommodation and a living allowance.

University students receive funding for books or a laptop, however if you study at one of the public TVET colleges you won't get NSFAS funding for books as the necessary books are given out by the TVET vocational college you study at.

Students also receive NSFAS allowances to cover other student needs.

Ekurhuleni West TVET College offers a wide range of programmes with varying fee structures to accommodate different student needs. Whether it's engineering, business studies, hospitality, or IT, prospective students can find a programme that suits their interests and budget at this TVET College.
