While the South Social Security Agency (Sassa) continues to disburse the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant during this month, clarity about some of the processes beneficiaries must follow to access the grant tend to be elusive.
With this in mind, determining how and when to apply for the R350 grant can prove difficult and confusing for those unfamiliar with the process. This then begs the question, Can you apply for the R350 grant?
Much to the misfortune of grant applicants who do not have access to the internet, the answer to this question is no. Sassa R350 grant application can only be done solely online by following the process listed below:

Because Sassa will be validating your details through other institutions such as SARS, NSFAS, the Department of Labour, and the Department of Home Affairs, you will be required to sign a statement and consent form after completing your application.
In submitting your application, Sassa will need you to provide documents containing the following details:
Identity Number or Department of Home Affairs Refugee permit number
- Name and Surname as captured in the Identity Document
- Gender and Disability
- Contact details - Cell phone number
- Residential Address
On the Sassa Covid-19 site, R350 grant recipients who have had their applications rejected can file an appeal or request for reconsideration to have their grant applications reviewed.
