A learnership is a great opportunity to gain workplace experience after completing your qualification from either, school, college or university, particularly one that relates to your qualification.
But is it possible to apply for one while studying? The answer is No. this is because learners in learnerships have to attend classes at a college or training centre to complete the classroom-based learning.
After this, they also have to complete on-the-job training in the workplace. This means, if you are unemployed, you can only apply for a learnership if an employer is willing to give you the necessary work experience.

Furthermore, Some learnerships do not require learners to meet any entry requirements, but others require learners to have a grade 12 certificate. A learnership usually takes a year to complete, while some learnerships may take two or more years to complete.
