Hurry and collect your R350 grant payment from the last cycle as today marks the last day you are able to do so. The SASSA SRD grant was created to assist unemployed individuals during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Beneficiaries from the first cycle of the SASSA R350 grant who have unclaimed SASSA payments are urged to collect these SASSA payouts by the end of today.

SASSA posted the following on social media:

Unclaimed special Covid-19 SRD Grants from the first cycle: affected beneficiaries have until 30 November 2021 to collect their unclaimed funds.

These SASSA grant payments should be collected at your nearest Post Office. Be sure to have your ID with you when collecting.

Should beneficiaries not withdraw their SRD grant payment, it will then be forfeited to the State where it will be used to fund other government priorities, said SASSA.

The first cycle of the R350 SRD grant payments was announced in May 2020, in response to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown restrictions which left many households without a source of income.

The grant was intended to help people who had no income due to unemployment during the pandemic.

As for the current round of the R350 grant, there is no set payment date for when your grant will be paid. However, SASSA has assured beneficiaries that they will receive payments for those months that they qualify.

Should you be collecting your current R350 grant payment from the Post Office, the weekly schedule works according to the last three digits of your ID number.

R350 grants are not being disbursed on days when other SASSA grants are paid. For December, this is the 1st to the 3rd of the month.

If you have any enquiries, you then need to contact SASSA at 0800 60 10 11.
