SASSA beneficiaries of the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant who have applied for reconsideration of their grant payment have been advised to be patient while the social security agency works on fixing the issue.
According to SASSA, these are applicants whose application may have been declined for any period while they had no income in the preceding month.
“Clients who applied for reconsideration are advised of the delay in addressing the reconsideration requests. SASSA is currently working to resolve this. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused” SASSA explained.
These applicants have been advised to submit their application for reconsideration on the following link: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration
This is how R350 SRD grant applicants can lodge an appeal if their application has been declined:
- Visit the SASSA SRD Grant website
- Scroll down to 'Application for reconsideration'
- Click on the yellow bar
- Fill in the required fields
And here is how to do a status check if you have lodged a SASSA SRD grant appeal:
- Go to the SRD Grant website
- Scroll down to 'Click here to apply online or check reconsideration status'
- Click on the yellow bar
- Fill in the required fields
- You will then be able to view your application status
If an appeal is successful, applicants will receive an SMS notifying them on further instructions regarding the collection of their grant payment.
