The Gauteng Department of Basic Education has announced that the 2022 Online admissions in Gauteng for Grade 1 and Grade 8 officially began on 15 October 2021 and will continue until 30 November 2021.
The department has further stated that parents and guardians should expect feedback on their online applications via SMS notification or on www.gdeadmissions.gov.za. until the end of November.
The education department has also urged parents who have yet received any notifications not to panic, as the placement process is still underway.
However, parents, particularly those who have not received a placement offer through an SMS, have also been urged to track their application status online on www.gdeadmission.gov.za and accept the offer if available.
Offers may be accepted provisionally, while further offers are awaited or accepted as final. Once an offer is accepted as final, no further offers will be made.
So far, a total of 123 752 placement offers have been sent out to parents and 47 906 of them have been accepted and placed. An additional 75 846 applicants have also received offers and have not accepted them according to the department's records.
