SASSA has received an overwhelming response when it comes to the Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant and have opened up various channels for R350 grant applications.

However, is using the Moya app one of the ways you can apply?

SASSA has responded to this by saying:

Please note that Moya APP is NOT a SASSA APP.

SASSA then went on to give other channels applicants can use to apply.

So how can you apply then?

You can submit a SRD grant application using the following:

In order to access or to have the application reconsidered for the Social Relief of Distress Grant, an applicant must grant consent for SASSA to verify his or her identity, residency, income or social security benefits.

Applicants will also need to accept the declaration and consent.

It is not necessary to submit multiple applications. Confirmation will be received as soon as the application has been successfully submitted.

Those individuals who applied for the grant in the previous round will have to re-apply.

Clients who previously cancelled the grant, and who would like to re-activate the grant, due to a change in their circumstances are welcome to re-apply.
