Before SRD grant beneficiaries fetch their R350 grants, they first need to have received an SMS. If there is no SMS, it means that the grant is not available for collection yet.

This SMS would tell the beneficiary that their SRD grant is ready to be collected. They can then head to their nearest Checkers, PicknPay or Boxer store to collect their grant.

The option to collect at a Checkers, Usave, PicknPay or Boxer store is only open to grant recipients who have received an SMS from the SASSA confirming their collection payout point as either Pick n Pay or Boxer.

The beneficiary should make sure that they take their ID and physical cellphone with them when collecting their grant.

It's also important to remember that there is no set date for R350 grant payments. SASSA aims to pay grants soon after R350 grant applications have been verified and approved.
