June 2025 Sassa Grant

Millions of vulnerable people in South Africa depend on support from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa). To access social grants in June 2025, individuals must submit their applications and check their status for approval.

Sassa offers a range of permanent social grants based on individual needs. These include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support Grant Top-Up, and Grant-in-Aid.

Applying for a Permanent Grant

To apply for a Sassa grant for June 2025, visit your nearest Sassa office. If you're unable to apply in person due to age or illness, you may authorise someone to apply on your behalf. Certain grants - including the Older Persons, Child Support, and Foster Child grants — can also be applied for online via the Sassa Services website.

Once your application is submitted, you’ll receive a reference number, which serves as proof of submission. There are no application fees.

Checking Your Sassa Grant Status

After applying for the June 2025 grant, you can track your application status online using your reference number.

The official date of application is the day on which all required documents are submitted and all Sassa requirements are fulfilled.

In-office applications may take up to three months to process. If approved, payments will be backdated to your application date.

If Your Sassa Grant Application Is Rejected

If your application is unsuccessful, Sassa will issue a written notification outlining the reasons for the rejection and how to appeal. You may submit an appeal to the Minister of Social Development within 90 days of receiving the rejection letter.

Payment and Suspension

Grant payments for June 2025 will be made via direct deposit into your bank account or through Sassa-approved payment channels. It is important to notify Sassa of any changes to your circumstances — such as your address, marital status, or income - to avoid suspension.

Other reasons for suspension may include a change in medical condition or financial status, failure to comply with a review process, fraudulent activity, administrative errors, or missing documentation.

Payments are usually made during the first week of June 2025, beginning from the second working day of the month, excluding weekends and public holidays.
