Once you head in to check your R350 grant application status after you submitted your Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, you might see a status that you don't understand.

No need to worry, we'll help you tackle it. Keep reading to find out what 'Aug Pending' means and what you need to after you see this R350 grant status.

So what does it mean?

If you see 'Aug Pending', that shows that you've submitted a R350 grant application for the month of August and SASSA has successfully received it. The process of verifying your August R350 grant application is then pending.

What do you need to do?

SASSA advises applicants to then keep on checking their SRD status for updates.

Once your application undergoes the verification process, SASSA is then validating the information you provided, such as your ID number, Name and Surname, by the Department of Home Affairs.

Your ID number is then matched against various databases such as South African Revenue Sevices (SARS), Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and National Student Finacial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). This is to check if you are receiving any other sources of incomes or grant and if you are, you will then not be approved.

After this, your ID number and mobile number is then put through a Fraud Risk Scoring process.

Should you be approved, you will then receive payment through the bank, Post Office or Cash Send and this payment would be for August and every month after, should you still qualify.

SASSA checks every month whether beneficiaries still qualify. There is no need to apply every month for this to happen.

Should you have been rejected, you can submit an SRD appeal.
